As we look back at 2022, we see a time characterized by tremendous volatility across all markets.    Among the events that shaped the year were:

• Continued inflation, the magnitude of which has not been experienced in the U.S. in decades
• Sharply higher interest rates in response to inflation
• Large scale war in Europe roiling energy and other commodities markets
• Deep recession potentially looming
• Scandal and turmoil in the cryptocurrency markets
• Continuing headwinds facing equities

In response to all of this, investors continue to seek safe haven assets.   We will examine gold and the other precious metals, and their continued value as flight to quality assets in light of the above factors and events as we look at 2023.   For hundreds of years, the metals have been a refuge in turbulent times, and they continue to be.  Abruptly changing times often call for time tested solutions, and with this in mind we will take a close look at the precious metals and the events shaping dictating the realities of markets going forward.
